Business Leaders TalkThese are uncertain times globally and in Ukraine and if 2009 is anything to go by; 2010 is set to be a challenging, exciting and memorable year. So, to explore the key issues in Ukrainian Business the EBA have launched a new series of interviews and articles to offer the opinions, thoughts and analysis of some of our leading business experts. In the first set of interviews to be published in January and February, the EBA will be asking its members what the think will happen in year ahead. The idea came from a series of Billionaire Interviews in Forbes Magazine where "Rather than peering into a crystal ball", the magazine "turned to some of the world's richest and most successful businesspeople for their takes on the year ahead". Obviously, exactly what the future holds is unknown however the interviews make interesting reading and you may be surprised by some of the answers they give. Troy Moe, Country Manager and the Head of Telenor's Representative Office in Ukraine and EBA President was the first to offer his thoughts and the article is available online at www.eba.com.ua EBA Social Events in 2010 In addition to the EBA Schools, Committees and Business Clubs, the EBA has an exciting program of social events planned throughout the year. Popular events such as the EBA EuroDrinks evenings are an enjoyable way to relax in Kiev and meet with other like-minded business people. The friendly and informal atmosphere not only provides fun and entertainment but they're also a cost (and time) effective way to establish business connections and share business expertise. Events in January included a Wine Tasting Evening in Stare Zaporizhzhe, and the ever popular EuroDrinks evening which took place in the office of the European Commission (EC) Delegation to Ukraine. Connect with the EBA Facebook and Twitter Ever keen to connect with its members and followers, the EBA launched a new Facebook 'Page' in January to compliment its existing Facebook and Twitter services. Facebook 'Pages' have been specifically designed to provide a customizable presence for an organization or company to connect with Facebook users. As Facebook puts it "a Page lets Fans become brand advocates. Posts by the Page will start to appear in News Feed, giving Pages a stronger voice to reach their Fans. In addition, Pages now have the flexibility of multiple customizable tabs previously exclusive to user profiles." In short, the addition of our Facebook Page now means that it is even easier for the EBA to inform our members what we are doing and for our members to contact the EBA. What is more, our Page provides a forum for discussion of EBA and business related issues. Find Us Online A strong advocate of social media and online collaboration, the EBA also use a number of other online productivity tools such as LinkedIn Groups, which are used to support our committees and schools. EBA Schools Following the success in 2009, the EBA PR and Marketing School in memory of Robert Reed and EBA HR School entered into their new study year with a full subscription of students and building on this success the new Personal Assistant school also began in January. The Schools were created to help members educate their staff and benefit from the latest ideas and thinking in certain business areas. Each member company may enroll one employee on each school and lessons run once a month for a period of 12 months. Enrolment for 2010 is now complete however, if you are interested in joining any our schools programs in 2011, please write to: office@eba.com.ua |
